As there are only four days left to the 1,000th
anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi, a series of activities will take place in
Hanoi and some large provinces and cities to mark a millennium of struggle for
national independence and freedom, promote relations with international friends
and increase the capital city’s position.
Many hotels in Ha Noi are fully booked six days
before celebrations begin for the 1,000th anniversary of the capital city.
Ha Noi is the only locality in the country with
many ancient citadels. Most popular are Co Loa, Thang Long Royal Citadel and Son
Tay. They would become interesting destinations to attract tourists frome
everywhere to Ha Noi.
A magnificent ao dai exhibition will take place in
Hanoi on the evening of October 1, kicking off the festival of the grand
millennial anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a
press conference on September 22 to announce a street art programme entitled
“Dragon Festival”.
On the occasion of the 1,000th Anniversary of
Thang Long–Hanoi, the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi Hotel, has introduced a
special tour for visitors to explore Hanoi.
The first CD exhibition will be held from
September 23rd to 28th at 39 Hang Bai Street in Hanoi, by the Phuong Nam Film
Company and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s agency to celebrate
national events in 2010.
Following the success of the Memories of Long Bien
Bridge Festival 2009, Nguyen Nga, an overseas Vietnamese living in France, is
busy completing her final preparations for the Long Bien Festival 2010 to mark
the 1,000th birthday of Thang Long-Hanoi.

Street in Hanoi's Hoan Kiem district.
Hanoi, the 1,000-year-old city, is developing
rapidly, yet still maintains its own unique character and traditional values.
Only after two weeks of searching, Vietsky Travel

finished preparations and are ready for welcoming tourists to the capital’s
millennium birthday.
The largest project invested by Hanoi authorities
will open on October 6 with 50,000 artifacts.
