Ha Noi will develop luxury hotels in the capital city’s prime
locations in the next five years, as part of its efforts to promote tourism.
From 1 September 2016, Ha Noi City officially opened pedestrian
zone around the Hoan Kiem Lake from 19:00 on Friday to 24:00 on Sunday every
week. The initiative will be piloted by the end of this year.
The Hanoi People's Committee plans to advertise on CNN to promote
the tourism industry.

The Mid-Autumn Festival 2016 in Ha Noi’s Old Quarter will be held
from September 2 to 15, 2016 (from the second day to the fifteenth day of the
eighth lunar month).
Within this year, the Ha Noi administration will provide free
Wi-Fi services in many locations for tourism and intelligent transportation.
The Departments of Tourism of Ha Noi, Thua Thien - Hue, Da Nang
and Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Quang Nam signed a cooperation
program on August 9th, in Hoi An City.
The new walking street, Nguyen Quy Duc St in Thanh Xuan District,
Ha Noi will be opened in the first quarter of next year.
Hoang Trung Hai, Secretary of Ha Noi Party Committee has issued
the Resolution No. 06 on tourism development in Ha Noi in the period of 2016 –
2020 and subsequent years.
An exhibition themed ‘Viet Nam Today’ displaying 96 outstanding
photos of Viet Nam’s landscapes and people will be open to the public at the
Centre for Fine Arts and Photography (29 Hang Bai Street, Ha Noi) from July 5-9.
Ha Noi will have its own decree on developing tourism to 2020,
targeting to welcome 30 million tourists, 5.7 million of which are international
tourists, and earn VND120 trillion ($5.38 billion) in revenue, according to a
workshop on the new decree held in Ha Noi on June 15.
Located in Cha Ca street, 'Cha ca La Vong' (grilled fish) is the
famous restaurant to many Hanoian as well as visitors from all over the world.
Ha Noi has been building new tourism products to lure more
domestic and foreign visitors to the capital city, affirming its position as a
tourism centre of the country, said the municipal Department of Tourism.
The capital city of Ha Noi and the Normandie region of France
have agreed to foster cooperation in tourism and human resources training
effectively and sustainably.
A painting exhibition on the theme of the lotus was launched in
Ha Noi to celebrate the 126th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh.
A cultural exchange programme between Ha Noi and Japan opened in
the capital city on March 19.
