Saigon has long been known as a city that never sleeps, with
cafes, restaurants, and bars that are never closed.
From 21st to 23rd February 2014, HCMC’s Department of Culture,
Sports and Tourism will organize the food festival with the theme “Festival Day
of my Homeland” at Van Thanh Tourist Park.

Tourism plans to welcome the city's four millionth foreign tourist for the year
in December.
The three-part Sofitel French Wine Week will be rolled out in the
hotel via a number of different events.
From September 1, the Ho Chi Minh Museum will remain open through
lunchtime to serve visitors from 8am to 5pm everyday, except on Mondays and
Fridays.
Many stalls in the lounge of HCM City’s Tan Son Nhat airport
began listing new price tables since June 26, after the Civil Aviation
Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) issued an ultimatum on putting down
overcharging at the airport.
HCMC urges the launch of a campaign called “Five Nations - One
Destination” with the participation of Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and
Vietnam, aiming for a region with a uniform tourist visa or visa exemption to
attract international visitors.
HCM City authorities plan to develop river tourism and make it
the city's main tourism product by 2020.
HCMC this month will officially introduce seven river tours
departing from Bach Dang Wharf in District 1 to tourist sites along the city’s
rivers.
The HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism says it is
going to submit a petition to the Ministry of Transport to increase the
life-span of buses carrying visitors to 15-20 years from the current ten years.
The hospitality industry in HCMC is feeling the ever-stronger pressure of competition from other localities in terms of international arrivals, although the city still maintains its leading position, heard a seminar in the city last week.
