The historic buildings in Hanoi’s Duong Lam Village and the lost
bomb shelter of the Hotel Sofitel Metropole Hanoi have just been honoured in the
2013 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
War veteran Ta Ngoc Tho and his comrades in Ha Noi's Hai Ba Trung
were recently invited to Bac Kan to attend the 65th anniversary of Phu Thong
victory over the French. They visited several of the province's tourist
destinations, such as Thanh Temple, Puong Cave and Dau Dang Waterfall.
The Vietnamese Embassy in the UK and Northern Ireland will hold a
cultural festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, on September 7 to mark the 40th
anniversary of Vietnam-UK diplomatic ties.
Aiming to raise community’s awareness about water resource
preservation, on 19th Aug., the Ninh Thuan’s Department of Culture, Sports and
Tourism released a document calling units, travel businesses and craft villages
in the provinces to respond to the World Tourism Day 2013 (27th Sept.).
Vietnam has set the goal of developing six sea-based tourism
destinations up to international scale by 2020 under a project recently adopted

in Trung Ha commune, Chiem Hoa district, 70 km from Tuyen Quang city.
