Travel, Viet Nam Originale and Cle Voyage participated in the 2011 Le Monde
Paris (MAP) International Tourism Fair that was held from March 17-20.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
is working on a plan that would open the region to foreign tourists in the same
way as Europe with a unified visa system and streamlined travel arrangements.
Five teams from the UK, South Korea, Italy, China
and Vietnam will participate in the International Firework Festival in the
central city of Da Nang on April 29-30.
A group of Ukrainian artists will visit and
perform in Hanoi on the occasion of an official visit of Ukraine President

The HCM City Tourism Association has said it will
propose that the government slash VAT, corporate income tax, and allow delays
for tax payments of two quarters in order to help travel firms to survive their
current difficulties.
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT)
has co-ordinated with the southern Binh Thuan province’s People’s Committee to
organise an international seminar on building Vietnam’s marine trademark at
Sealinks Bech Hotel on March 18.
A direct flight service between Nanning city in
China’s southern province of Guangxi and Ho Chi Minh City will be launched on
March 28.
The “Queen Mary 2”, part of the Cunard Line, now
the world’s second largest passenger liner by weight (but on her delivery date
(in 2003) she was the largest), on March 21st, brought 2,430 tourists from 20
countries and territories and 1,230 crewmembers and staff to visit the coastal
city of Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa Province.
This year's HCM City Tourism Day 2011 will
highlight special aspects of five popular destinations – HCM City, Da Lat, Binh
Thuan, Phu Quoc and Hai Phong, organisers of the annual event said on March 22.
