A folk painting exhibition of Vietnam opened in
the Lao Capital of Vientiane on January 10 to mark the 81st anniversary of the
Communist Party of Vietnam’s foundation (Feb. 3, 1930 - Feb. 3, 2011), the 11th
National Party Congress and the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism
will take part in the Travex’ 2011 in the Cambodian capital city of Phnom Penh
from Jan.18-22 to popularize the nation’s tourism, according to the Hanoi Moi
daily.
The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines
announced it will add 99 flights on local routes to provide more services during
the lunar New Year (Tet holiday) 2011.
The Furama Hotels and Resorts International has
announced its agreement with Saigon Ho Coc Company to manage a resort in the
southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
Local travel firm Viet Excursions on Wednesday
welcomed the Ocean Princess cruise ship with around 800 passengers on board at
the Phu My seaport in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, on in several cruise ships
served by the company since the first day of the New Year.
The domestic market segment rather than inbound
activities has been proven a highly-potential niche market for tourism
companies, with most reporting double-digit growth in 2010.
For the first time, Air France’s new-version of
the Boeing 777-300ER has gone into service from Vietnam to Paris, France.
Thanks to the current cold spell in northern
Vietnam, Mau Son mounts in the northern border province of Lang Son have become
a favorite destination for photographers and tourists.

been launched by Hoi An City from the beginning of this year in order to improve

The project to build Thanh Hoa Airport was

Airlines) has received a 120 minute ETOP (Extended- range Twin-engine
Operational Performance Standards) certificate.
Vietnam Airlines announced Wednesday it would
increase further flights on major domestic routes in January to meet the surge
in demand for upcoming Tet (the lunar New Year) which falls on February 2, 2011.
The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV)
has asked the Transport Ministry not to approve a plan by Vietnam Airlines to
establish an aviation joint stock company serving businesspeople.
Travel agencies have tailored various new domestic
and overseas tours to meet the growing demands during the coming long Tet
holidays.
The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, has

holidays.
