More than five million international tourists
travelled to Viet Nam in 2010 – the highest number for 20 years. Last year, the
domestic tourism industry also posted significant growth of 35 per cent.
Reviewing the tourism industry’s performance in
2010, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism VNAT announced with great
pleasure that the country received five million foreign tourists and 28 million
domestic travelers in the year.
Many tourism promotion trips to foreign countries
made in 2010 and careful preparations for Vietnam’s national tourism year in
2011 are aimed at not only attracting more tourists next year but also improving
the country’s tourism quality.
Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO) announced a
plan to increase nine flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Tuy Hoa (Phu Yen
Province) and back, during the Tet holiday.
An international seminar, titled Art of Don Ca Tai
Tu and impromptus will take place in Hanoi from January 9th to 11th with the
participation of 120 delegates from of France, Germany, Cyprus, Malaysia, Japan,
the Republic of Korea, Singapore and Vietnam.
“The charm of Korean traditional embroidery art”,
exhibition opened today at Korean Cultural Centre, in Hanoi, with more than 40
Korean embroidered masterpieces on traditional costumes and other objects from
the Korean Royal life.
The number of domestic tourists has increased
sharply over the New Year holidays.
