“Le hoi Lang Sen” (Sen Village Festival 2016) officially opened
in Kim Lien Commune, Nam Dan District, the central province of Nghe An on May 17
as part of activities to mark the 126th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.
A meeting took place in Da Nang on 17 May to announce a decision
by the municipal People’s Committee (PC) to divide the Department of Culture,
Sports, and Tourism (DCST) into 2 separate units: the Department of Tourism and
the Department of Culture and Sports.
Travelling trends of tourists, particularly international
travellers, have changed dramatically in recent years. They tend to search for
natural hideaways, explore local cultural identities, and mingle with community
life in destinations.
From May 16, the entrance fares at the tourist attractions like
Silver waterfalls, Sin Chai, Ta Phin, and Love waterfalls rose by VND5,000 to
VND25,000, except for the fare to Fansipan, which still remains at VND150,000
($7) per person.
On 12 May 2016, in Ha Noi, the Embassy of Belgium in Viet Nam

Brussels to Vietnamese tourism enterprises and press agencies.

Responsible Tourism Capacity Development Progam (ESRT) organised a “responsible
tourism” seminar on May 13th at the Flamingo Dai Lai Resort in Vinh Phuc
Province, with the participation of various specialists, tourism managers and
reporters.
The Prime Minister recently approved the use of electric
four-wheel vehicles for tourism in the central province of Quang Nam and the
southern province of Kien Giang.
The Cham ethnic cultural festival 2016 will be held in three days
from July 15th to 17th in An Giang Province, under the theme “Preserving and
promoting Cham ethnic culture in the context of sustainable development”.
Specialists of Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism
Capacity Development Program funded by the European Union (EU-ESRT) has
organized a training course on E-marketing in tourism for 20 officials of Viet
Nam National Administration of Tourism and Ha Noi Tourism Department.
A new generation Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, numbered VN-A861
of Vietnam Airlines, on May 12th has operated two flights from/to Cat Bi
international airport in Hai Phong City to welcome the new passenger terminal
construction.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc issued an order for the
construction of the Hon Dau luxury resort in Dau islet in Do Son District, the
northern port city of Hai Phong on May 7.
Budget airline Vietjet has announced a new route from Nha Trang
to Thanh Hoa with flights arriving and departing four times per week.
