The 1,000th Anniversary of Thang Long–Hanoi is
drawing near. A large number of people from many places, especially from Ho Chi
Minh City, are pouring into Hanoi.
Vietnam’s travel companies are attending the 32nd
International French Travel Market Top Resa Fair that opened in Paris, France,
on Sept. 21.
Air Mekong, a Vietnamese private air carrier that
has tied up with the US-based Skywest Airlines, has announced a month-long
promotion to mark its launch October 9, with 8000 tickets going on sale today.
In the framework of the National Action Plan on
Tourism, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) carried out a
field survey to explore tourist potentials of four northeastern provinces of
Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Bac Kan and Lang Son. The survey lasted from September 6
to September 12, 2010.
Ha Noi - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and
Tourism (MoCST) launched a training course on international integration of
Culture and Tourism on September 20th .

opened a ten-day exhibition, “Coming to Vietnam’s Spratly Islands”, at No16 Ngo
Quyen, Hanoi.
The Dragon Festival, jointly held by the Embassy
of Spain in Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will take
place on the evening of October 2nd, at the My Dinh National Stadium.
The Ho Chi Minh City's administration has made
many surveys on waterway tourism to create an appealing tourist attraction.
However, the project is still on paper.
On September 26th, at the Dam Bong Eco-Garden in
Hoang Mai District in Hanoi, a twenty-day exhibition, entitled “The Red River
Wet Rice Civilization with Millennium of Thang Long-Hanoi”, will display 1,000
rare tortoises, 1,000 old coins and notes, 1,000 farming tools, and 1,000 other
products.
Travel companies in Ho Chi Minh City are making
active preparations for tours to the capital city of Hanoi during its 1,000 year
anniversary.
The Japanese TV channel BS, is filming a documentary on the
ancient Oc Eo culture in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang to highlight its
unique cultural characteristics, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports
and Tourism (MoCST).
Accor is striving to realize its new ambitious goal to operate 30
projects in three years’ time, or almost three times higher than the current
number of hotels the group is managing in Vietnam.
