The Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association held a ceremony at the
Moscow Institute of Economics, Management, and Law on October 24 to vote for
Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay as one of the seven new natural wonders of the world.
Every where she goes, international friends enthusiastically
support Ha Long Bay of Vietnam in the voting for the world’s new seven wonders,
said Vietnamese Tourism Ambassador Ly Nha Ky.
Since the global vote for New7Wonders of Nature launched in
August 2007, Viet Nam's Ha Long Bay has received active support of people
throughout the country and international community. Up to this time, Ha Long Bay
has listed in 28 "Official Finalist Candidates" of the vote.

vote for Ha Long Bay in the selection of new seven wonders of nature.
Quang Ninh Province’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union launched
a new campaign “50 days to gather votes for Ha Long Bay as one of the New Seven
Wonders of the World” in Ha Long City on September 20th.
The New Open World Corporation has added Vietnamese to the list
of 12 languages used to vote for the New 7 Wonders of the World, including
Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay.
Around 500 passenger boats on Ha Long Bay in the northern
province Quang Ninh refused to carry travelers on Friday morning as boat owners
cited that their facilities failed to meet safety regulations as ruled in the
new decision.
The EcoBoat, an environmental education programme on Ha Long Bay,
was the focal point of an exhibition on June 5 to showcase its outstanding
performance over the past six years.
Tourist boat owners in the northern province of Quang Ninh face
huge financial losses under the provincial People's Committee's decision to put
stricter controls on tourist boats.
A seminar was held in the northern province of Quang Ninh on May
1 to seek ways to gather more votes for Ha Long Bay to be recognised as one of
the New 7 Wonders of the World.
The northern province of Quang Ninh has invested 138 billion VND
(6.6 million USD) in building an outdoor art laser light stage, which will make
its debut at the coastal area of Ha Long Bay on the night of May 2.
The annual carnival in the northern coastal city of Ha Long
(Quang Ninh province) this year will attract nearly 3,000 performers, including
nearly 1,000 professional artists from Hanoi.
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT)
and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched a
campaign on April 9 to promote tourism and voting for Ha Long Bay as a natural
wonder of the world.
The leading domestic tour operator, Saigontourist,
welcomed 2,200 foreign tourists and crew (mainly from China) on the five-star
cruise ship, the “SuperStar Aquarius”, that docked in the Cai Lan Port, Ha Long
City on April 3rd.
