Ha Long bay ranks fourth among the 28 candidates
running for the world’s seven modern natural wonders, after three rounds of a
votes launched by the NewOpenWorld website (www.natural7wonders.com).
The Ha Long – Quang Ninh 2011 Tourism Week will be
held from April 29th to May 2nd at the Tuan Chau Tourist Area and in the centre
of Ha Long City, according to the Quang Ninh Province People’s Committee.
Over 11,000 tourists flocked to Ha Long Bay in the
northern province of Quang Ninh during the first two days of 2011, up 10 percent
over the same period last year.

Vietnam, has recently been selected by the leading British tourism magazine,
“The Lonely Planet,” as one of the 10 most famous boat-touring sites in the
world.
An exhibition of Vietnamese folk art opened on
December 3 in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province, introducing the nation’s unique
types of traditional art.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and
Tourism, in 2010, with a series of domestic and oversea political and cultural
events, Quang Ninh has many chances to promote its image and welcome tourists.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST)
sent an offical document to Vietnam's representative boddies in oversea about
the vote for Ha Long Bay becoming a new world's natural wonder.
