A Vietnamese restaurant honoured in US
The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design presented
its International Architecture Award 2011 to Bamboo Wing, a Vietnamese
restaurant in Flamingo Dai Lai Resort on July 6th.
Bamboo Wing is the only Vietnamese architectural structure winning the award
together with 89 other international architecture structures.
The International Architecture Award is presented annually by the Chicago
Athenaeum to honour the best new urban planning, architecture and landscape
architecture and interior structures of the year.
Bamboo Wing’s design is the image of a crane flying up from the Hung Kings’
ancestral land in Vietnam. The bamboo structure, a typical Vietnamese
traditional architectural structure embraces a lake looking to the immense Thien
Hill creating an environmentally-friendly atmosphere.
The nearly 1,000 s.q.m Bamboo Restaurant is designed by designer Vo Trong Nghia.
