Scheme for 10 major national tourism areas
From 2013 to 2015, a scheme for 10 chosen areas will be set up to
focus on developing national tourism sites, said the Vietnam National Tourism
Administration.
The 10 major national tourism areas include: the Dong Van Stone Plateau in the
northern mountainous province of Dong Van, Lang Co Sea Tourism Area in the
central coastal province of Thua Thien Hue, Hai Van Eco Tourism Area in the
central coastal provinces of Danang and Thua Thien Hue, Thac Ba Lake in the
northern mountainous province of Yen Bai, Dakkrong Eco Tourism Area in the
central province of Quang Tri, Yok Don Area in the Central Highland province of
Daklak, Ca Mau Forest in the central province of Phu Yen, Pa Khong Lake in the
northwestern province of Dien Bien and Con Son Historical and Cultural Relic in
the northern province of Hai Duong.
The country is expected to have 39 national tourism areas by 2030. The scheme
will contribute to raising capital for infrastructure and service development
while offering opportunities to promote competitive tourism products.
