Vietnam to sell its tourist attractions in China
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will organise two
promotional campaigns in the next two months in China, Vietnam’s biggest tourism
market, to introduce local destinations and seek partners.
It will lead a delegation to the International Tourism Exhibition in Guilin
Province from September 16 to 18 where it will introduce the Vietnamese
non-smoke industry to 800 travel agencies from 50 countries and territories and
16 Chinese provinces.
It will later organize road shows in Hunan, Jiangxi, and Fujian Provinces from
September 16 to 22 to promote tourism and meet Chinese tour operators and
authorities.
China has accounted for nearly 25 percent of Vietnam’s international arrivals
this year, sending around 786,000 visitors.
This represents a 53.5 percent growth, though while the northern and central
regions saw sharp growth, the southern region, especially HCMC, witnessed a
decline, the Saigon Times newspaper reported.
Last week the Quang Ninh Tourism Association set up a club to receive Chinese
tourists arriving via the Mong Cai border gate.
The club has attracted 27 travel agencies based in the north.
