Ancient boat discovered at river-bed

      A boat wreck has recently found at the depth of 10 metres in the Red River in the neighbouring area between Dai Tap commune, Khoai Chau district, Hung Yen province and Thuy Phu commune, Phu Xuyen district, Hanoi.
However, the wreck was broken into two while being lifted out of the water.
According to the initial information, it is likely that this is an ancient boat, dated back hundred of years, about 30 metres in length, 5 metres in width, operated by steam with a load of 100 tonnes.
Several items were found on boat such as bowls, plates, a wooden box carved with Chinese characters...
The wreck is currently under the management of the Dai Tap commune authority. Researches are on the way to find out further information about this ancient ship.
