VietJetAir enters Vietnam aviation market
VietJetAir on Friday launched its national commercial activities
in Vietnam and made debut as a low-cost carrier.
The newcomer had two separate launch ceremonies in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City,
marking its official entry into the Vietnamese aviation market.
The event also marked the opening of the budget carrier’s booking offices and
travel agents for selling tickets nationwide.
Its website www.vietjetair.com and CallCenter 19001886 were also launched to
offer a ticket-booking network to clients.
VietJetAir operates four flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi every day in
the initial period, and the number will be increased to 14 early next year,
according to Deputy General Director Nguyen Duc Tam.
He added his airline would operate new Airbus A320 aircraft to save energy and
reduce operation and maintenance costs. The carrier will putt all the 180 seats
into operation, according to him.
The airline has plans to expand its service network in Vietnam, he said, adding
that it also looked to flying to regional countries. Asked when, he said it was
still early to say.
