Noi Bai airport serves 27,000 passengers during Tet
Nearly 27,500 passengers have entered and went out of Hanoi
through Noi Bai International Airport from January 23-25, according to the
Airport Customs Department.
They include both local and international visitors, as well as overseas
Vietnamese from countries around the globe returning home for the Lunar New Year
festival (Tet). Most international arrivals are from different nations such as
China, Japan, Taiwan (China), the Republic of Korea and other nations from
Europe and America.
The Head of the Customs Department, Dao Van Lien, said that the number of
passengers conducting entry-exit formalities during Tet reached more than
25,000. This is a positive sign showing the strong development of the capital
city, as well as great efforts by the city’s customs sector in carrying out
reforms and modernization.
Lien said last year, more than 3.24 million of passengers on 36,500 flights
arrived in the capital city. Import-export turnover also increased sharply,
hitting US$30.4 billion, US$12.2 billion higher than the previous year.
