Japan museum to display Vietnamese treasures
One hundred and thirty precious Vietnamese artefacts will be put
on display in Japan in April 2013 for an exhibition called Viet Nam-The Great
Story.
The exhibition is the result of the new relationship between the Viet Nam
National Museum of History and Japan's Kyushu National Museum, which was sealed
at a signing ceremony last Wednesday.
"This will be the biggest and most original display of Vietnamese artefacts in
Japan," said Nguyen Van Cuong, director of the Vietnamese museum.
The objects chosen for display are from the country's diverse old civilisations
including Oc Eo, Sa Huynh, and Dong Son which date back 2,000 years. In
particular, the exhibition will feature a ceramic and porcelain collection from
the 8th to 12th century, and a selection of artefacts from royal court of the
Nguyen dynasty (who reigned from 1802 to 1945).
