Binh Phuoc encourages tourism investors
Binh Phuoc Province, with its great tourism potential, especially
ecotourism and nature tourism, is focusing on the sustainable use of its tourism
potential and providing incentives for investors in its tourism sector.
Binh Phuoc is located in the Southern Key Economic Zone (SKEZ), one of the
country's most powerful economic development zones, adjacent to the Central
Highlands with its unique cultural traits, and shares a long border with
Cambodia. Binh Phuoc lies along the Ho Chi Minh Highway, the arterial route
connecting the Central Highlands to the Mekong Delta region. These provide
favorable conditions for the province to develop its economy and tourism to
become a well known destination in the Southeast Asian region.
According to Deputy Chairman of Binh Phuoc's People's Committee Nguyen Huy
Phong, Binh Phuoc is relatively abundant in tourism resources including forests,
waterfalls and lakes, which favors provincial ecotourism. In addition, Binh
Phuoc is also home to Khmer culture, the ethnic cultures of the Central
Highlands, and mixed culture of the south eastern region with its many
festivals, cultural heritage, which favors cultural tourism.
In order to make the most of these advantages, Binh Phuoc's tourism sector has
signed cooperation programs with Ho Chi Minh City's partner sector, completed
specific inter-regional tours, surveyed routes connecting Binh Phuoc with other
provinces in the South East and Southern Central Highlands. Seven travel
businesses currently operate in Binh Phuoc and provincial capital investment to
build tourism infrastructure from various economic sectors has reached more than
VND42.7 billion.
In terms of investment attraction, Binh Phuoc encouraged investors to pour
capital into six specific projects including the 237 ha VND324 billion Suoi Cam
General Entertainment Park in Tan Phu Ward, Dong Xoai Town; Ba Ra-Thac Mo
Eco-tourism Complex in Son Giang Ward, Phuoc Long Town, about 50km from Ho Chi
Minh City which is 732m above the sea level and recognized as a historic
heritage site on April 20, 1995; and Soc Bom Bo Ethnic Cultural Village
Conservation in Binh Minh Commune, Bu Dang District, with historical vestiges of
the American War.
During the resistance war, the S'Tieng ethnic group, fought against the US army
despite the hardships. Soc Bom Bo has so far changed for the better thanks to
tourism development projects such as the Bu Gia Map National Park located in the
north of Binh Phuoc over an area of 25,926ha, with a wealth of flora and fauna
suitable for the development of nature tourism; and the Ta Thiet Military Base
Ecotourism site.
Ta Thiet Military Base was located in Ta Thiet Commune, Loc Ninh District, used
to be the headquarters of the Vietnamese National Liberation Front where the Ho
Chi Minh Campaign Command was set up in 1975. It has become a well known
destination for domestic and foreign tourists to visit.
In addition, there is also an eco-tourism and recreation project under
construction at the Hoa Lu Border Gate, which will be a combination of
commercial and tourism services in order to create conditions to promote border
trade and tourism between Vietnam and Cambodia.
