Lam Dong will deploy its tourism plan until 2030
Lam Dong Province aims to reach VND20 trillion in revenue from
tourism services by 2030 via promoting local tourism development, especially in
Dalat.
The national tourism development strategy until 2020, with a vision towards
2030, for the province of Lam Dong has been approved by Vice Chairman of Lam
Dong Province’s People’s Committee. The plan, which is divided into three
specific development stages, includes the first stage from 2013-2015, Lam Dong
planned to welcome from 4.5 to 5 million visitors, with international visitors
accounting for 10 percent of the total, and to reach a revenue of VND10
trillion; during the second stage from 2015-2020, 6.5 million visitors, with
international visitors accounting for 15 percent, and to reach a revenue of
VND13 trillion; and during the second stage from 2020-2030, 15 million visitors,
with international visitors accounting 20 percent, and to reach a revenue of
VND20 trillion.
According to travel experts, Lam Dong’s tourism development plan until 2030 and
has been carefully prepared. Last year, the province welcomed 3.91 million
visitors, a 10.9 percent increase compared to the previous year, with
international visitors accounting for more than 200,000, a 10.7 percent increase
compared to the previous year. In the first quarter of this year, approximately
1.1 million visitors came to Lam Dong, with international visitors accounting
for 66,500. Most of the foreign visitors were either Russian or Korean who came
from Binh Thuan and Khanh Hoa, and they preferred to stay at 3 to 5 star hotels.
To successfully implement the national tourism development strategy and the
provincial tourism development plan, Lam Dong Province’s People’s Committee has
assigned Lam Dong’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to work in
collaboration with provincial authorities to offer attractive tourism products
and services that may make the most use of local tourism facilities; reorganize
local tourism and travel companies especially in Dalat; upgrade tourism sites to
attract tourists, while enhancing tourism site inspection, preservation, and
restoration; accelerate tourism investment projects; and combine tourism
development with high-tech agricultural development and local traditional
villages.
Travel experts believe that the provincial tourism development plan plus
continual efforts by provincial authorities would help the local tourism sector
achieve the set targets via exploiting the advantages of local tourism in terms
of natural resources and traditional and cultural values, aiming at
comprehensive economic sustainable development. The tourism sector is considered
one of Lam Dong’s economic spearheads in the coming time..
