Conference on establishment of tourist supporting centres
On November 16, 2013, in Da Nang City, Ministry of Culture,
Sports and Tourism organized a conference on establisment of tourist supporting
centres.
The conference was chaired by Mr. Ho Anh Tuan – Deputy Minister of Culture,
Sports and Tourism and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh – Vice Chairman of Da Nang People’s
Committee. In attendance were delegates from Departments of Culture, Sports and
Tourism, Tourism Promotion Information Centres of the provinces which attracted
over 1 million tourist arrivals per year and representatives of the EU Project.
According to Mr. Ho Anh Tuan, it is necessary to set up tourist supporting
centres to strengthen tourism environment management, ensure safety and security
for tourists.
Accordingly, the localities that welcomed over 1 million tourist arrivals
annually should work out plan for establishing tourist supporting centres soon.
Additionally, the localities that received less than 1 million tourist arrivals
can actively propose to implement this model to improve management efficiency on
tourism, quality of tourism services and promote tourism-friendly image to lure
tourists.
The centres should have a hotline, well-trained staff and an easily accessible,
identifiable location. Received information must be processed by the centres
within 24 hours.
At the conference, some localities which have already established tourist
supporting centres as Da Nang, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh cities… also exchanged
experience in establishing tourist supporting centre.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to work with the
Ministry of Information and Communication and relevant agencies to soon launch a
common hotline for all tourist supporting centres in the country.
