Da Nang focuses on foreign tourism markets
The central coastal city of Da Nang strives to attract 3.6
million tourist arrivals in 2014, a year-on-year rise of 15 percent. This is
expected to bring the city more than VND8.82 trillion in tourism turnover.
To reach the target, Da Nang will focus on further exploiting foreign tourism
markets through direct flights to Japan, the Republic of Korea and Thailand, and
receiving tourists via the East-West economic corridor.
The city will concentrate on developing river tourism and establishing new
specific tourism products to attract more tourists. In addition, new tourism
trademarks in Ba Na such as French village, Ba Na By Night funicular and
four-season flower garden will be developed by the city.
It will continue to call investors to pour capital into Son Tra peninsula, the
peak of the Hai Van mountain pass and upgrade Ngu Hanh Son landscape into a
national destination.
According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 2013,
total tourist arrivals to the city reached more than 3.1 million, up 17.2
percent against a year previous. Of this figure, more than 743,000 foreign
tourists visited the city, up 17.8 percent. Total tourism turnover posted more
than VND7.78 trillion, up 29.8 percent.
So far, Da Nang has 16 foreign flights, including four direct regular flights.
The city is expected to have four additional new flights from Tai Yuan, Xia Men,
Ha Er Bing, Ning Bo (China) in December./..
