Exploring mysterious Ma Thien Lanh Valley
Considered the Dalat of the country’s southeastern region, Ma
Thien Lanh Valley located in Thanh Tan Commune in Tay Ninh Province is formed by
three mountains, Ba Den, Heo and Phung. With hundreds of hectares of primeval
forests and many stunning streams, the valley is recommended as an ideal weekend
getaway.
Currently, there is a three-kilometer-asphalted path from National Road No. 785
to the peak of the mountain, but to reach Ma Thien Lanh is not easy at all as
the way down to the valley is still steep, tortuous and boasts many snakes.
Just a two hour motorbike ride from HCMC, Ma Thien Lanh now is one of the top
destinations for excursionists who love the primitive life and adventure. From
the foot of the mountain which has a few local households, travelers need to
walk for about one kilometer under the shade of ancient trees to reach the top.
The winding section in the valley with choirs of birds and forest species must
amaze tourists. The highlighted site of the valley is Ong Ho cave which is a
very deep cave tucked on Heo Mountain’s foot.
After the long journey through dense forest layers, tourists will be rewarded by
a cool and fresh atmosphere as well as splendid sceneries from streams to
mountain creeks. Flora and fauna diversity is also an attraction of this
mysterious land.
The climate is cool all year round and is also a good retreat for holiday goers
to flee the HCMC heat and dust.
