HCMC to organize biggest food festival 2014

From 21st to 23rd February 2014, HCMC’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize the food festival with the theme “Festival Day of my Homeland” at Van Thanh Tourist Park.
This is one of the annual cultural and culinary activities which have been highly appreciated by the public as well as domestic and international tourists.
The festival 2014 focuses on introducing food from different regions of the country North, Central, South, Northwest, Central Highland…
Traditional food (especially tea and cakes) is the highlight of the festival. Beside, there will be art performances such as Quan ho singing, Hue and Southern Central folk songs, bamboo pole dance, Southern amateur music (Don ca tai tu music). The festival will reappear old countryside markets, ethnic fairs with colorful traditional costumes of ethnic groups and activities of fishing village with fishing boats, nets, fishing tool and typical meals of fishermen along Viet Nam’s coastal region.
In addition, the visitors will have a chance to enjoin many folk games such as Con throwing, swinging, wrestling, pushing bamboo stick; making children's toys from coconut leaves, bamboo, rice dough...
