Phu Yen to continue connecting and advertising tourism products
Since the establishment day from September 2013, Phu Yen tourism
association (abbreviated as Association) has made numerous efforts, among which
is the task of connecting members; promoting the advertisements for tourism
products, and this has been paid considerable attention by the Association.
Also, this is one of the Association’s focal tasks set for the year 2014. As
related to this issue, Phu Yen Newspaper interviews Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam,
chairman of the Association.
* What are the favorable conditions and difficulties facing the business
operation of tourism sector in the year 2014?
- In the past time, tourism enterprises in the province have been mostly new to
the job, and this means certain limitations do exist, particularly in terms of
investment capital, human resources and tourism product quality…However, with
the efforts made by the entire sector, in 2103, tourism operation showed
positive shifts in the aspects of : the investment and construction of tourism
trade foundations, the tasks of training and fostering human resources,
promoting and advertising tourism, which somewhat better meets the demand of
tourists coming to Phu Yen province. Revenue from tourism sector has also been
considerably increased. Particularly, since the past Lunar New year, the number
of tourists coming to Phu Yen (staying overnight) reached 7,280, an increase of
30 against the same period of the previous year. This is the year beginning
positive signal for the tourism sector.
In 2014, there will be lots of favorable conditions for the tourism sector,
thanks to the less stressful economic situation. The state will introduce lots
of supportive policies, and this is definitely favorable condition for the
enterprises to continue investment and development. As for Phu Yen province in
particular, the locality hosts the event of Vietnam 2014 Seafood Festival (from
March 28th to April 2nd, 2014). This is a good opportunity for the province as
well as enterprises to invest in introducing and advertising the images of the
land, people and tourism potentials to domestic and international friends.
* What are the focal tasks for the Association in 2014?
- One of the weakest points of Phu Yen Tourism sector is the lack of tourism
products and task of propagating and advertising. Therefore, the targets and
tasks of the Association in 2014 are to concentrate on this content. The
Association continues to well fulfill of the role as the bridge connecting
enterprises, who are encouraged to invest in constructing featured tourism
products; constructing the demand stimulating chain of products. Enhance the
task of advertising, introducing products through connecting with the Tourism
Associations in HCMCity and Ha Noi, the highland provinces...Cooperate to
organize famtrips; making the Association’s website…Besides, the task of
training, fostering the human resources; the task of for constructing the
Association is also one the focal task to be paid attention to.
For the immediate future, the Association will receive “orders” of some tasks
from the PPC, the department of culture-sports-tourism, like the participation
in cuisine contest and other activities of Vietnam 2014 Seafood Festival;
coordinating with the Department of culture-sports-tourism to work with the
Construction Department, the people’s committee of Tuy Hoa city to consider the
constructing location of the Center for tourism information and shopping for
tourists; the tourism information kiosks; joining in research of scheming and
constructing the scheme of investing in the pointed tourism venue of Da Dia
Reef; consulting-counter arguing against the schemes and investment projects for
developing the province’s tourism sector…
