Gia Lai celebrates national tourism year
A string of activities was held in Pleiku city, the Central
Highlands province of Gia Lai , on March 15-16 in response to the “2014 Central
Highlands-Da Lat National Tourism Year.”
The events aimed to promote the image of land and people in Gia Lai and the
wider region, contributing to protecting and upholding traditional values of
ethnic groups.
Among them was the Victory Festival of the Bahnar people, which involved the
participation of more than 50 artisans with various props such as gongs and
spears.
The festival voices the Bahnar people’s happiness after combating hunger and
natural disasters.
Another 50 J’rai and Bahnar artisans showed off their statue sculpting skills,
attracting a big crow of visitors.
The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also partnered with
localities to launch tours that allow visitors to explore the beauty of T’Nung
Lake, Dong Xanh Park and Phu Cuong Waterfall, among others.
