Hanoi to have additional three five-star hotels
The Hanoi hotel market now has 57 three to five-star hotels with
approximately 8,150 rooms, up 4 percent quarter on quarter and 5 percent year on
year, reported Savills Property Company.
The additional supply came from three three-star and four-star hotels with
approximately 200 rooms that were officially ranked in the first quarter this
year. In addition, an existing five-star hotel in the western city added more
rooms to the market.
Visitor arrivals to Hanoi in the first quarter were estimated at 5.58 million,
in which international arrivals were 705,000, up 15 percent year on year,
reported the Savills.
According to Savills, the average number of occupied rooms in this quarter was
4,800, a 5 percent rise quarter on quarter and a 10 percent increase year on
year. Five-star hotels accounted the largest share at 52 percent.
In the remaining quarters, the market will receive 36 projects. In which, 20
projects with confirmed supply will provide approximately 5,900 rooms.
Between the second quarter of 2014 and 2016, five projects supplying
approximately 1,300 rooms are expected to enter the market. Three of them are
five-star projects with 1,100 rooms at 26 percent of the current five-star
stock. All five projects are either under construction or fitting-out, said the
property company./.
