Domestic and int’l cuisine highlighted in Festival Hue 2014
In the framework of Hue Festival 2014, from April 15th – 19th, an
int’l cuisine festival was held in Phu Xuan Park, Hue City by Viet Nam National
Administration of Tourism, Thua Thien Hue Department of Culture, Sports and
Tourism and Thua Thien Hue Hotel Association.
The event attracted over 70 booths of Viet Nam’s localities and 7 countries and
territories including Cambodia, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and
Taiwan (China).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, General Director of VNAT Nguyen Van Tuan said
cultural tourism is one of the important segments of Viet Nam tourism
development strategy. Thua Thien Hue is a land of cultural heritage, in which
cuisine is considered as one of the most unique cultural values with over
1,000 traditional dishes including royal dishes under Nguyen Dynasty.
Visiting Hue on this occasion, tourists will not only have a chance to enjoy
local and int’l specialties but also to see culinary performances of famous
chefs.
In addition, there will be many exciting activities to bring new experiences to
visitors in the festival such as food exhibition; “Beer Festival”; bartender
performance; introduction of Hue cocktail trademark; cocktail made from local
wines and some famous international brands of wine…
The int’l cuisine festival- Hue 2014 is an opportunity to promote cuisine
culture of Hue and Viet Nam as well as to expand culinary cultural exchange,
contributing to enhance friendship between Viet Nam and other countries in the
region and around the world.
