Nha Trang intensifies measures to ensure safety for tourism
Nha Trang People’s Committee has recently held meeting about
Project “Ensuring social safe and order for tourism activities in Nha Trang” to
discuss more drastic measures for the project.
The project has been built up by the city People’s Committee since November,
2013.
Some issues that need to be improved are lack of public toilets and rubbish bins
at the beach, unhealthy competition among tourist businesses, peddling and
pavement encroachment for trade.
At the meeting, Nguyen Khac Ha the Vice-chairman of the city People’s Committee
Nguyen and head of the project steering committee, said that the situation
vendors trying to invite travelers to buy goods with insistence has to be
stopped definitely. Wards and communes have to bear responsibility for cases of
bothering tourists.
To the issue of pavements’ order, the vice-chairman emphasized that streets
without trading and vehicles on pavements need be set up as model streets while
in other streets, models of self-govern trading will be built up.
The city People’s Committee also directed the Police to intensify security in
tourist destinations such as Cau Da Port, Long Son Pagoda, Ponagar Temple and
many others and install cameras in some places. Interdisciplinary mission of the
project have been entrusted to receive information and give consultancy to deal
with affairs, as well as support wards and communes in peak time. Additionally,
a team with members knowing foreign languages will be established to solve
problems of foreign tourists by June.
Confiding tourism as a key economy and aiming it to sustainable development, Nha
Trang has determination to improve the city more civilized to create a good
image in visitors’ hearts.
