Strengthening cooperation and attracting Russian tourists

Central Board of Tourism, Institute of Oriental Studies Development, Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee have co-organized International workshop with theme "Cooperate for Vietnam - Russia Tourism Development" .
According to the report of Central Board of Tourism, in recent years, Vietnam's tourism witnessed strong growth of the Russian market. Tourism development strategy by 2020, vision to 2030 determined to strengthen exploiting the market of senior tourists from Western Europe and Eastern Europe, in which showing that Russian tourist market is very important. To promote tourism development in Russian market, Vietnam has been implementing various activities such as market research, organizing Vietnam Cultural fairs and festivals in Russia, organizing Vietnam-Russia tourism development workshops and receiving travel and hotel companies to survey Vietnam tourism... These activities have brought about certain effect. However, a country of more than 40 million people traveling abroad every year like Russia, Russian tourists to Vietnam is still modest.
At the workshop, Phu Yen provincial leaders affirmed that tourism was one of key economic sectors, to be priority investments. Phu Yen has 190km of coastline with many bays, beautiful beaches, and this is a potential advantage to develop relaxing tourism and sea-island eco- resort in associated with promoting value tangible and intangible characteristics culture which is appropriate to Russian tourists’ needs. The province is using a lot of solutions for infrastructure development, tourism products and investment attraction, strengthen tourism promotion and propaganda...
The workshop received many opinions, speeches analyzing advantages of Vietnam tourism in general and Central Coast region in particular in the development of Russian tourists market; simultaneously pointing out limitations and difficulties needed to solve ... The participants raised solutions to attract tourists generally, in which paying attention to Russian tourists. It is necessary to focus on promotion, propaganda; developing specific products, brands of each region; ensuring service quality; improving the quality of human resources, especially direct labor force can speak Russian; security and safety for tourism...
According to Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, deputy general director of Central Board of Tourism, workshop "Cooperate for Vietnam-Russia tourism development " is an opportunity for all sides to exchange in promoting tourism development in Russian market; creating opportunity to exchange contact between travel companies of 2 countries, linking to improve tourism products, attractive destination for Russian tourists, especially new destinations in provinces of Phu Yen, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Ninh Thuan...
