“Viet Nam Week” in Seine-Saint-Denis, France
In the framework of Viet Nam Year in France, “Viet Nam Week”
opened on June 2, 2014 in Seine-Saint-Denis Department (Ile-de-France region,
France). It’s the first time an important event of cultural exchange between
Viet Nam and France has been held in Seine-Saint-Denis Department from June 2 to
8, 2014.
At the opening ceremony, Vice President of the General Council, Mr. Jean Charles
Nègre spoke highly of cooperative relationship and cultural exchange between the
two countries and emphasized significant meaning of the important event which is
one of many activities to mark the 40th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic
ties. Besides, he appreciated the effectiveness of the projects on culture,
economy, health care, planning, education and training which were launched in
2006 by Seine-Saint-Denis and Hai Duong Province.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese Ambassador to France, Mr. Duong Chi Dung praised the
Department’s idea to hold “Viet Nam Week” which helps to enhance friendship and
solidarity between Seine-Saint-Denis Department in particular and France in
general with Viet Nam.
Many attractive activities will be also organized during the week such as: Photo
Exhibition, Water puppet show, Introduction of cuisines, Performance of martial
arts, especially screening film of “Viet Nam – Secret negotiations” directed by
Daniel Roussel; Exhibition on the Viet Nam - France diplomatic relationship from
1945 to now.
“Viet Nam Week” is an important part of activities to celebrate the Viet Nam
Year in France. It is a good chance to promote the Vietnamese culture and
strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and France in the
coming time.
