American tourist praises Viet Nam tourism

On May 20, 2014, an American tourist, Mr. Gregory K Faulk sent a letter to Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan – General Director of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism, praising the hospitality of Viet Nam Tourism. Mr. Gregory K Faulk, who spent 2 weeks in Viet Nam with his friend, was very impressed with the wonderful job VNAT has done making visitors to Viet Nam feel welcome. Below is the entire letter of Mr. Gregory K Faulk:
"Dear Mr. Nguyen:
The purpose of this letter is to commend your office on the wonderful job it has done making visitors to your beautiful country feel welcome. My friend, James Bobbitt and I just spent two weeks in your country from May 3rd to May 17th. We made all the travel arrangements ourselves on-line and were easily able to do so. Our application for Visas from your US Embassy was quick and efficient. We booked 3 star local hotels (i.e. did not stay in international chain hotels) and received clean, comfortable rooms and great service. The associates at the front desk were very helpful in arranging our travel plans the cities we visited. Their spoken English was more than sufficient to assist us in our travel plans. We used the local taxi service (Mai Linh and Vinasun) with no problems. On occasion we rode in the local bus and were easily able to do so. Our trip included in country travel via Vietnam Airlines from HCMC to Hue, Da Nang to Da Lat and Da Lat to HCMC. Our flights were on time and comfortable. In fact, we had to change the day of our flight from Da Nang to Da Lat and were able to do so with no problems. We visited many of the local museums and attractions and thought the prices fair and the sites well maintained. We ate the local (fresh) food and imbibed the locallbeer and enjoyed them. We purchased local goods (silk scarves and T-shirts) and thought the prices quite reasonable. We interacted with the locals on several occasions and felt comfortable doing so. All of this is to say our trip was a wonderful experience and we would (and already have) unhesitatingly recommended travel to your country to others. Keep up the good work."
