Ha Long Carnaval set to open

The 2015 Carnaval Ha Long is set to open on May 8 in downtown Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province. The Quang Ninh provincial People's Committee said Carnaval Ha Long was considered the highlight of tourism activities in 2015 in Quang Ninh. The annual event offers an opportunity to promote the native culture to visitors.
This year's carnaval will include an opening ceremony, fireworks and art performances on stage and dynamic live street performances that promise to offer visitors an eventful festival atmosphere.
Most notably, the street display themed "Ha Long Smile" will feature nearly 10 carriages decorated with flowers, art performances and the participation of 50 models and more than 2,000 extras.
The Carnaval Ha Long has become part of Quang Ninh's tourism brand. The previous carnival attracted tens of thousands of domestic and international visitors.
