Final round of “Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism” contest

On 14 June, Final round of “Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism” contest was held in HCM City.
The contest was co-organized by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the ESRT Programme, Thanh nien Newspaper and Sai Gon College of Art Culture and Tourism to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Viet Nam tourism sector and enhance students of High Schools’ awareness on environmentally and socially responsible tourism in using sustainably natural resources, reducing waste and limiting natural resources consumption to develop economy and society.
Speaking at the final round, Deputy Director General of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Quoc Hung appreciated the initiative of the contest Organizing Board and stressed the role of community, especially youth generation’s responsibility in environment protection.
Starting from January 1st to June 15th, 2015, the contest includes three rounds: Round 1 (Jan - March) and Round 2 (April - May) to choose 20 finalist out of 32,572 contestants to advance to the final round.
In the final round, Nguyen Trung Hieu (Quoc Hoc Hue High School, Hue City) won First prize; Second prize for Ta Hoai Thuong (Bac Binh High School, Binh Thuan Province) and Nguyen Thi Yen Linh (Tran Phu High School, Hai Phong City); Third prize for Nguyen Hoang Phuong Anh (Dau Tieng High School, Binh Duong Province) and Huynh Thanh Thanh (Tran Binh Trong High School, Khanh Hoa Province).
