Mekong Delta province to host National Tourism Year 2016

On July 24, 2015, the first meeting session of the National Steering Board for National Tourism Year 2016 was held in Ha Noi. Accordingly, the National Tourism Year 2016 will be hosted by Kien Giang Province.
Speaking at the meeting session, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Hoang Tuan Anh said National Tourism Year 2016 is significant cultural and economic event. This is a good change to promote national tangible and intangible cultural values and local unique tourism products. In addition, the event also contributes to raise local people’s awareness of tourism development in association with marine resources preservation, especially the development of sea and islands tourism in Kien Giang, and the Mekong Delta region.
The National Tourism Year 2016 with the theme “Exploring Southern Land” will kick off from April 30th next year and last for the whole year with various activities in Kien Giang and other localities in the region.
