Developing high-quality tourist accommodations – a bright spot of Viet Nam tourism
In 2015, many high quality hotel and resort complexes (from 3-5
stars) of big corporations came into operation such as Saigontourist, Vingroup,
Sungroup, FLC, Muong Thanh Group, which increases competitive capacity in the
field of accommodation and contributes benefit to national budget.
By the end of 2015, the country had 18,800 tourist accommodations with 355,000
rooms (increasing 2,800 tourist accommodations over last year) including 91
five-star accommodations with 24,212 rooms; 215 four-star ones with 27,379
rooms; 441 three-star ones with 30,337 rooms. Only in Oct 2015, 4 hotels
including VinPearl Premium Nha Trang Bay (1,011 rooms), Best Western Premier -
Havana Nha Trang (750 rooms), Muong Thanh Nha Trang Centre (458 rooms), FLC Sam
Son Beach and Golf Resort (520 rooms) received 5-star certification granted by
Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
Besides the establishment of new high quality accommodations, investors also
paid attention to upgrade quality of service and human resource. Recently,
series of accommodation in Viet Nam were honored by famous social networks and
int’l travel magazines such as: InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort in
the central coastal city of Da Nang named as "World's Leading Luxury Resort" at
the Gala ceremony of the World Travel Awards 2015; Hanoi Oriental Central Hotel,
Hanoi Charming 2 Hotel, Hanoi Serene Hotel, Hanoi Meracus Hotel 2, Essence Hanoi
Hotel & Spa listed in top 25 hotels offering world’s best service by TripAdvisor,
contributing to promote Viet Nam’s image to the world.
The investment for high quality accommodations has been bringing high benefit to
country’s economy and in accordance with tourism sector’s development guidance.
In 2015, Viet Nam welcomed 7,943,651 int’l arrivals, increasing 0.9% over last
year; domestic trippers reached 57 million; total tourism receipts estimated VND
337,830 billion. The above numbers demonstrate the improvement of service
quality in Viet Nam in which high quality accommodations play an important role.
