PM launches construction of VND5 trillion resort in Hai Phong
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc issued an order for the
construction of the Hon Dau luxury resort in Dau islet in Do Son District, the
northern port city of Hai Phong on May 7.
The resort is invested by Him Lam Corporation at a total investment of VND5
trillion (US$225 million). The project is built on an area of about 100 ha and
includes entertainment areas, hotels, villas, beaches, a 2km cable car system
connecting Do Son peninsula to Dau islet and ancillary works.
The project is expected to be put into full operation by 2021, with artificial
beaches, commercial buildings, entertainment areas and some apartments, hotels,
and villas to be put into operate by 2018.
Speaking at the launch, PM Phuc said that Hai Phong has cared for and
co-operated with entrepreneurs for development. Tourism in Hai Phong in
particular and the country in general were still untapped, he said, adding that
the potential was relatively large for sector development.
The government leader urged Him Lam, along with other investors to pour
investment to this field to turn Hai Phong and other potential localities into
attractive tourist destinations with major brands for local and national
development.
The PM also asked relevant ministries, local governments and businesses to
actively support each other to create big brands, while facilitating mechanisms,
institutions and policies to encourage tourism development and mobilising the
whole community to be involved in tourism activities, especially in ensuring
security and order and environmental sanitation to facilitate tourism
development.
