Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa promotes to attract more tourists from Northeast Asia

Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association is making a plan to attract more visitors from Korea and Japan.
According to statistics of the provincial Department of Tourism, the number of Japanese visitors to Nha Trang in the first six months was more than 6,500 and the figure of Korean visitors was over 24,300. The number of visitors from the two countries to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa remains stable year-by-year. However, the two markets still have bigger potentials to Nha Trang tourism. “Raising visitors from Korea and Japan is a target of Viet Nam tourism as well as Khanh Hoa tourism. It also matches with the tendency for international tourist markets in the government’s Tourism Development Strategy in the period of 2011 – 2020 and till 2030”, said Nguyen Van Thanh, the permanent chairman of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association.
Korean tourists often use expensive services like staying in seaside resorts, playing golf, etc. In recent years, Korean tourists like 2-country tours, which take them to Viet Nam and Laos or Cambodia. Young Korean visitors like back-packing tourism to discover culture of the destination they come. Korean tourists often spend USD259 – USD527 a day. Japanese tourists are also high spenders. They like to come to beauty spots, historical vestiges or destinations which have good environment, special cuisine or shopping places, etc. Especially, many Japanese tourists like to combine tourism and community activities.
Many promotion activities
Attracting more visitors from Korea and Japan is a desire of tourist businesses in Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa. Director of Tictours Travel Nguyen Quang Thang shared, “Korea and Japan are two of main markets of Viet Nam tourism. We expect to receive more visitors from the two countries.” Deputy director of Long Phu Tourist Company Tran Minh Duc said, “To draw tourists from Korea and Japan, we will set up tours and services suitable with their demands, and then will made promotion activities.”
Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association is making a plan to coordinate with the provincial Department of Tourism to call upon tourist businesses in the province to join a promotion event for Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa tourism to two countries Korea and Japan, scheduled in early November. Joining the event, they will have a chance to visit and learn experience from developing tourism of the two countries in some famous cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Busan, Jeju, Seoul, etc. Especially, with the support of Viet Nam Tourism Association as well as the tourism associations of the two countries, tourist businesses of Khanh Hoa will attend two Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa tourism promotion conferences in Tokyo and Seoul where they will meet and exchange with big tourist businesses of Korea and Japan as well as have a chance to introduce their tourist products.
