Promoting tourism cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan
On 9 September 2016, Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA)
organized a seminar to promote tourism cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan.
Tourism cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan has increasingly been tightened,
especially after the approval of joint statement on tourism cooperation between
the two countries in 2005 and the establishment of Viet Nam-Japan Tourism
Cooperation Committee. The two sides have supported each other in organizing
promotional activities. Annually, Viet Nam participated in JATA Tourism Expo,
holding various workshops and roadshows to promote Viet Nam tourism to Japanese
public, welcomed Japanese famtrips and presstrips…
At the seminar, Mr. Chung proposed Japan to waive visa for Vietnamese citizens
to boost tourists exchange between the two countries. Viet Nam has exempted visa
for Japanese visitors since 2014.
To strengthen tourism cooperation in the coming time, the two sides should focus
on boosting tourists exchange, developing human resources, investment in tourism
development, travel facilitation and tourism promotion.
At the seminar, the representative of JATA spoke highly of Viet Nam’s potentials
for tourism development with stunning landscapes, hospitable people... He also
introduced Japanese tourism quality certification program for tourism
enterprises and encouraged Vietnamese tourism businesses to cooperate with
certified Japanese partners to ensure the tour service quality.
Representatives of tourism businesses of the two countries also shared
information about attractive destinations in each country, promotional
activities, new tourism products…
