Buckwheat flower festival to open in Ha Giang

The second buckwheat flower festival, which will feature art performances and a display of buckwheat flower products, will celebrate the blossoming of the iconic flowers in Dong Van District in Ha Giang Province from October 14 to 16, 2016.
The festival will be held in the districts of Dong Van, Quan Ba, Yen Minh and Meo Vac. The annual festival will include various activities like camping, folk singing, games and farming on buckwheat fields.
Besides getting the opportunity to take photos on the buckwheat fields, tourists can taste wine and cakes made from the ?wheat.
A street festival will also be organised in the area with traditional music and performances featuring actors in local ethnic costumes.
The festival was held for the first time in 2015 to honor the unique cultural values of Dong Van Karst Plateau, contribute to attracting visitors and developing the buckwheat flower into tourism brand of the karst plateau and also Ha Giang Province.
