Ha Noi celebrates Viet Nam Cultural Heritage Day 2016
On 22 November 2016, Ha Noi Department of Culture & Sports
organized a celebration of Viet Nam Cultural Heritage Day (23 November) at Ha
Noi Museum.
According to Director of Ha Noi Department of Culture and Sports, Mr. To Van
Dong, Ha Noi Capital preserves the largest amount of cultural heritage sites in
the country including 01 world cultural heritage site, 11 special national relic
sites, 1,182 national cultural relic sites, 1,202 municipal cultural relic
sites… Many of which have become popular destinations for visitors such as
Literature Temple – Quoc Tu Giam, Thang Long Royal Citadel, Ngoc Son Temple, Hoa
Lo Prison…
Thousands of valuable objects and national treasures are currently being
restored and displayed in Ha Noi Museum and other museums and relics.
Ha Noi has also listed intangible cultural heritage sites in need of
safeguarding and urgent safeguarding including Da Chat Slang (Da Chat Village,
Phu Xuyen District), Trong Quan singing (folk song contest between group of men
and women in Phuc Lam Village in Phu Xuyen District); Coc Thuong classical opera
(Coc Thuong Village, Chuong My District)…
On this occasion, Ha Noi’s Ai Lao Sing and Dance, Traditional Embroidery of Dong
Cuu Village, and Luu Xa Communal House Festival have been recognized as national
intangible cultural heritage by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Addressing the celebration, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dang
Thi Bich Lien highly valued effort of Ha Noi to protect cultural heritage. In
the coming time, Ha Noi should continue to propagandize, preserve and promote
cultural heritage and unique traditions to international visitors; foster
training of human resource in the field of culture.
