Road show promotes Vietnam’s tourism in Indonesia
A road show introducing Vietnamese tourism took place on December
5 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The programme is part of activities the Vietnam National Administration of
Tourism (VNAT) has organised to promote Vietnam’s image, culture and tourism
products as well as push up travel and tourism cooperation between the two
countries.
The administration has cooperated with localities and businesses to implement
tourism promotion activities to Indonesian tourists in an effort to welcome
100,000 Indonesian arrivals to Vietnam next year, said Deputy Head of the
administration Ha Van Sieu at the event.
He added that a direct route between Jakarta and Hanoi will be opened while
increasing flights on Jakarta – Ho Chi Minh route.
Vietnam and international airlines continue cooperating to launch new routes to
meet the travel demand of tourists in the upcoming years.
Meanwhile, numerous Vietnam’s international airports have been constructed or
upgraded.
Besides, investments have been poured into roads, waterways and railways with
the completion and operation of some expressways and trans-Asian roads
connecting ASEAN countries and China.
Tedjo Iskandar from the Indonesian travel firm Destination Networking said
Vietnam should have more tour guides who can speak Indonesian language.
He also noted that flights should be connected directly to offer convenience to
tourists besides operating the Jakarta-Hanoi direct route.
Vietnam has welcomed over 63,000 Indonesian tourists in the first 11 months of
this year, according to data of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam.
Similar programmes are taking place in Malaysia and Singapore from December
5-9.-.
