10 popular night markets in Vietnam
Hanoi, Ha Long, Hoi An, Phu Quoc ... are home to the busiest
night markets in Vietnam, which attract a large number of tourists.
Hanoi Old Quarter night market
The night market in the Hanoi Old Quarter opens on the evening of Friday,
Saturday and Sunday, from 18h to 23h. It is a familiar destination for many
visitors. Goods there are diverse, including souvenirs, clothes, footwear,
accessories and food. Hundreds of stalls are placed along the roads of Hang Dao,
Hang Ngang, Hang Giay streets. The market is most crowded from 8pm to 10pm.
Quang Ba night flower market, Hanoi
The largest night flower market in Hanoi opens from midnight to 3am - 4am and
from the early morning until midnight during the time before the new year
festival. This is a very popular destination of tourists to Hanoi.
Halong Night Market, Quang Ninh
The night market is located in the center of Halong city, near the beach. With
the good location Halong night market attracts many travelers here when they
join Halong Bay tour.
It is crowded with Vietnamese tourists from April to July. They visit night
market and buy the souvenirs such as necklaces, wooden products, clothes…, all
of souvenirs are made by local people.
Foreigners come here from August to March (the best time to visit Halong Bay).
They come here not only to buy souvenirs, but also for taking photos of
interesting activities in the market. It opens daily from 6:00 pm – 10:30pm.
Hoi An Night Market, Quang Nam
It is no coincidence that Hoi An was named one of the 20 coolest “nightlife”

Hoai River are delightful sights.
Just around 5 pm, the market begins to gather and lasts until 11 pm. People come
to Hoi An Night Market (Nguyen Hoang street, Hoi An town, Quang Nam) to shop and

Nha Trang Night Market, Khanh Hoa
Nha Trang Night Market is located on the pedestrian street next to the cultural
center 46 Tran Phu. The market is a unique design, with only 137m length, but
has rustic and idyllic features of athe beach city of Nha Trang.
Night Market has souvenir stands, handicraft products and food booths and mobile
beverage stores. But the most enticing for travelers are “artisansof

Dalat night market, Lam Dong

than 170 stalls that sell goods such as souvenirs, handicrafts and food between
5pm and 10 pm every day.
Ben Thanh night market, HCMC
These markets are all within a 20-30 minute drive by taxi from the centre, and
offer an authentic glimpse into realnight markets, but for those who are short
of time or energy Ben Thanh is ideally situated in the centre of Saigon and
offers a taste of the larger night markets out of town. Although the shopping
may be limited to souvenirs and tourist tat, there is still a wide choice of
food and a great atmosphere.
There are at least 20 street-side eateries around the market building, with
hundreds of diners gathering to feast on a wide range of the best dishes from
all over Vietnam. You may spot 'Bún chả' or 'Phở', delicious noodle dishes from
Hanoi, 'Banh Nam', little steamed cakes in banana leaf from Hue, or Bánh xèo,
crispy rice pancakes from the Mekong Delta, as well as plenty of other
delicacies. You can order delicious fresh grilled seafood, or tasty barbecue
pork - with such great choices, you can't go wrong!
One of the best things about eating at Ben Thanh is that you can watch the chef
cooking in front of you, and take in every delicious smell and sound, allowing
you to enjoy the food with all your senses. The restaurants are not tourist
traps but offer authentic food and atmosphere - on any night the clientele may
be 60-70% Vietnamese family and friends rather than exclusively tourists.
Eating and drinking on the street is very popular in Vietnam, and night markets

Phu Quoc night market, Kien Giang
The night market is 100 meters from Dinh Cau (Cau Temple), thus locals on the
island named it after the temple. The holy temple is situated on a stone at the
edge of the beach.
Dinh Cau Night Market stretches out on a road section of nearly 500 meters. It
opens daily from 5 p.m. until midnight and sells food and beverages, jewelry and
souvenirs.
The market is busy in the evening and is a cultural feature of Phu Quoc. It
appeals to a large number of travelers and has some 100 stalls along the
roadsides of Vo Thi Sau. Guests can go shopping and enjoy Phu Quoc specialties
featuring a wide array of fresh seafood with an eye-catching display.
After their meal, tourists can stroll down to booths selling souvenirs right in
the night market such as handicrafts, chains, bracelets, rings, earrings made
from pearls, shells or natural stones found on Phu Quoc. All pearl products
available here are imported from places growing pearls on the island. Such
stands lure a huge number of shoppers buying for themselves or as gifts for
friends and relatives. Prices of souvenirs and jewelry are not listed, but
visitors can have fun bargaining a good price with the sellers.
Tay Do night market, Can Tho
About 1km from the centre of Can Tho city to the west of Hau river, located in
Can Tho International Trade Fair Centre, Tay Do market is not only the trading
centre of Southern provinces but also an attractive entertainment and tourism
destination.
