Prime Minister approves foreign aid projects

      Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on March 20 approved several foreign aid projects.
The projects include a 550,000 EUR training programme for interpreters by the European Commission which the Foreign Ministry is responsible for implementing.
Other projects include an examination of the operation of the Bac Vam Nao flood control system on the Vam Nao river in the southern province of An Giang, for which the Australian government has granted 950,000 AUD in non-refundable aid.
The PM also agreed to a project funded by the US’s Asia Foundation for the construction of the National Library. The foundation will provide over 5 million USD to buy books for the 2009-2012 period.
The foundation has so far provided more than 320,000 books, worth almost 10 million USD to the library since 1993.
