MARD travels with enterprises and farmers
Leaders of the Ministry of
Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) on March 20 sat for an online talk with
producers and traders engaging in agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
MARD Minister Cao Duc Phat said that the talk is aimed at providing agricultural
enterprises a chance to present their difficulties, especially those relating to
mechanisms and policies on agricultural and rural issues.
About 330 out of 390 questioners received answers. The unanswered questions will
be clarified soon by the MARD and its affiliated bodies, stated Minister Phat.
Most of questions focused on husbandry, exploitation and protection of marine
resources, processing industry, forest protection and some hot issues.
Talking of measures to back exporters of agro-forestry and marine products, MARD
leaders confirmed that the Ministry had proposed some policies on financial, tax
and capital incentives.
The MARD agreed with the intention to cut the import tax rate down to zero for
input marine materials which are not available in Vietnam so as to help
processing enterprises reduce their costs, generate more jobs, and improve
competitiveness.
Over the past time, the Ministry has spared no effort to boost trade promotion
and carry out many projects to help farmers sell out their products as well as
enterprises access to loans with interest rate incentives.
The MARD has also developed an information system for farmers to access to
markets and take part in commodity trading centers.
Many policies have been also mapped out and realized to assist enterprises
trading in such major exports as coffee, shrimps and ba sa catfish.
The online talk was valued to be a step to better the MARD’s management and
performance.
