National folk song festival kicks off

      The Viet Nam Folk Songs Festival 2009 was launched by Viet Nam Television with an aim to preserve and develop folk art and discover new talents.
The third instalment of the festival this year will take place in six locations. The northern delta’s final round will be held in Bac Ninh Province on April 5; in Lam Dong Province in the central highlands on April 12; in the northern central region in Hue on April 26; in south central Phu Yen Province on May 3; in southern Long An Province on May 10; and the northern province of Bac Can on May 24.
