Hoi An owns 1,360 historical and cultural relics
The Centre for Management and
Preservation of Hoi An Relics has announced that there are 1,360 relics in the
ancient city of Hoi An, a world cultural heritage in the central province of
Quang Nam, 93% being architectural-artistic relics.
Among the 1,360 relics, 28 have been recognised as national relics. The local
authorities have also decided to preserve and restore some 108 others.
There are 1,107 relics in region 1 of Hoi An ancient city, belonging to Minh An
ward, including 46 special-class and 94 first-class. The remaining relics are
ranked from second- to fourth-class.
932 relics are owned by individuals and organisations, accounting for more than
84% of all relics in Hoi An.
