Introducing traditional arts to students
Bringing traditional arts to
students is the goal of a one-year programme entitled “Introducing traditional
culture and arts to staffs and students of the Hanoi National University”, which
will run from April 2009 to April 2010.
The programme was kicked-off with a show on April 25 which both introduced
traditional arts and provided knowledge about classic arts in the world.
There will be 12 more programmes focusing on different topics, such as hat xam
(songs of strolling blind musicians), ca tru (ceremonial songs), cheo
(traditional operetta), tuong (classical drama), cai luong (southern folk
opera), and folk songs of different regions, besides symphonic music and ballet.
Each programme will include two shows, organised at 182 Luong The Vinh and 144
Xuan Thuy, Hanoi.
Each show will comprise three parts: an introduction by experts and researchers,
illustrations by artists, and questions and answers.
