First Vietnam-Japan Park to be built
The signing of a number of
cooperative documents to develop the Vietnam-Japan Support Industry Park took
place in Que Vo Industrial Park (IP) on April 27 as part of a comprehensive
cooperative programme between the two countries.
Signatories to the documents were representatives from Vietnam’s Ministry of
Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Economic Research Institute in Japan, the Bac
Ninh provincial People’s Committee, the Kinh Bac Urban Development Joint Stock
Company (KBC), Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and Japanese ambassador to
Vietnam, Mitsuo Sakaba.
The No 1 Vietnam-Japan Support Industry Park, which is built on an area of 16
hectares in Que Vo IP and Vietnam’s first supporting IP. The Japanese side
pledges to send 50 small and medium-sized enterprises to invest around US$100
million in the IP this year to support Japanese industrial corporations
operating in Vietnam.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Mr Sabaka expressed his delight at the
increasing cooperative ties between Vietnam and Japan, hoping that after the
Support Industry Park is put into operation, Bac Ninh province’s neighboring
localities will play an important role in developing Vietnam’s support
industries, and contribute to boosting the country’s economic growth.
Dr. Phan Dang Tuat, the director of the Industrial Strategy and Policy Research
Institute, said that the construction of the industrial park is a beginning step
for Vietnam’s support industries. Their development will help the country to
integrate into global industry sustainably. Japanese enterprises are the best
choice for Vietnam, he added.
