Ba Vi striving for 1 million tourist in 2009

      A ceremony to open “Ba Vi Tourism 2009” was held on April 25th by the Ba Vi People’s Committee, at Suoi Hai Lake tourist site, Ba Vi District, Hanoi.
Ba Vi is a locality with a series of natural landmarks with grandiose beauty as the King Pond, Khoang Xanh Stream and Suoi Tien (Fairy Stream), and historical relics such as the Thuong, Trung and Ha temples.
In 2008, Ba Vi’s tourism sector attracted nearly 1 million domestic and international tourists to its landscape and ruins, bringing a profit of VND 100 billion.
Despite the current economic downturn, the district still set a target of 1 million tourists for 2009.
To meet this, it has invested VND 20 billion in the upgrading of roads to the above-mentioned temples.
In addition, tourist businesses also spent VND 65 billion upgrading infrastructure and improving quality of tourist products.
